Leopard gecko mouth rot

My 3 year old leopard gecko has mouth rot, she has been seen by her vet and they prescribed meloxicam for pain management and trimethoprim (antibiotic). My concern is that she is very lethargic and keeps her eyes closed even while moving around after I give her the medication.
