Nestled along the shoreline of Lake Shawnee in Topeka, Kansas, this 22-acre complex is a destination site for any sports enthusiast.

Shawnee Event Center, which opened in the summer of 2016, is a centerpiece of the 400-acre Grand Park Sports Campus, one of the largest sporting complexes in the world. The facility features three full-sized professional turf fields, a spectator lounge, retail space, locker facilities, office and meeting space, and administrative offices. I have visited Lake Shawnee many times for 5K's. Thought it would be a great place for a long camping weekend. I was not wrong. The camp sites are equipped with a security gate, quiet hours, a great view of the lake, electric/water hookups, swimming beach & easy access for fishing/kayaking.
