This is a replacement engine newer design with about 800 hours. Engine runs at speed then completely stalls to about 300 rpm then surges back to regular speed. Continues repeatedly. Problem presents in hot weather over 70F. Problem presents more under load (pto) but not always. Problem presents more when turning left. Mower almost unusable.Hello everyone. Approximately 100 hours on it. The issue was surging at WOT with no load. I took the carburetor off 4 or 5 times looking for dirt and cleaning it.5. Ignition coil problem. When you experience issues like the engine vibrating excessively, poor fuel economy, loss of power, noise, hard starts and stalling, etc. issues then it might be an ignition coil issue. To solve all the issues, all you need to do is to replace the ignition coil. 6. Smart choke problem.If you replace engine fuel filter, make SURE you refit with properly spcified kohler filter. Drain/clean carb - flush with carb cleaner rattlecan and compressed air. replace any disassembled gaskets - do not re-use. Make sure fuel tank is clean of old fuel and clear of any trash at bottom. Check fuel tank cap for vent OK.Removed the bowl & needle. Then sprayed a couple of squirts of carb cleaner in the fuel inlet, then back the other way.
